An exceptional large-scale Rajasthani water vessel from India, dating to the first half of the 20th century. Hand-formed from joined metal panels and richly painted against a black ground with scrolling Mughal-inspired latticework, floral borders and a central flowering urn flanked by birds. The surface retains wonderful age, patina and evidence of its hand-crafted construction. An unusually large and highly decorative example.
